Underworld is an organization founded in 1999, with a goal to work on general awareness-raising efforts on cyber-crime and immoral deeds on the Internet.
Underworld har linket IRC nettverket DALnet fra Portlane i Sverige. Serveren administreres av suom1 og er åpen for alle klienter. Dette er Underworld sin første server på DALnet.
In mid-September, Underworld linked a server to the Abjects IRC Network as part of Underworlds goal to support IRC as an entity, by contributing services to the largest IRC networks. Abjects has about 6000 users worldwide and servers on most continents. By agreement with Bjørn Borud, Underworld assumes operation of the IRCnet server irc.pvv.ntnu.no.
The server is one of the oldest IRCnet servers in Norway, and Underworld is proud of the opportunity to continue operating an important norwegian IRC server with such a long and memorable history.
After operating the Undernet server trondheim.no.eu.undernet.org for 1.5 years, NTE - the bandwidth provider - pulls the proverbial plug after repeated DDoS attacks.
The server held 12,000 concurrent users at its highest.
